• The Oregon Political Tax Credit is a “dollar-for-dollar credit” up to $100 per married couple or $50 per individual that nearly every taxpayer receives.
• It allows taxpayers to support the political organization of their choice.
• The Political Tax Credit is a wonderful benefit as it literally allows you to give critical support to defeat the recall while costing you nothing.
• The only catch is you cannot keep the tax credit! The state gives you a choice: either give it to a qualified political organization or pay it in taxes. To put it another way: Through our tax system, the State of Oregon gives each tax-paying Oregonian a $50 gift. But you can’t keep it.
